Fancy Gin & Tonic

5 limes at room temperature
16 oz gin                                  NEGRONI
cracked ice                                1 part gin
1 liter tonic                              1 part sweet vermouth
                                           1 part Campari
Roll the limes around on the               
counter to loosen up the juices            prepare as a Martini
in the skins.  Halve four of them          serve garnished with
and juice.  Juliene the peels and          an orange slice
muddle gin and rinds in pitcher 
for 2 minutes. Add lime juice and
let stand 5 minutes.  Half fill
pitcher with cracked ice, then
carefully add tonic and mix gently.
Pour into four chilled glasses,
garnish with fifth lime sliced 
thinly.

Mojito                             Gin Fizz (from Luke) 1feb10
4 t simple syrup                   2 oz gin
8 sprigs mint                      1 oz lemon juice
1 lime                             1 oz simple syrup
1 c rum                            1 oz orange juice
1 l soda                           2 oz half&half
                                   1 whole egg
2 large peaches                    flash blend, serve in chilled
1 c tequila                        fizz glass with garnish of
3/4 c peach schnapps               orange peel & long straw
1/4 c lime juice
hold one peach for garnish,     Pepper Rye Ginger Wonder
blend rest.  4 drinks           0.5 l rye + 3/4 oz cracked peppercorns
                                        let soak 48 hours & strain
Lemonade                        1.5 oz  rye
2 c fresh lemon juice           0.5 oz  ginger liquor
1 c simple syrup                0.5 oz  simple syrup
4 c water                       0.75 oz lime juice
1 c tequila or rum              shake with ice & serve
1/4 c mint leaves
mint sprigs for garnish
